§ 38-3. Department rules and regulations.
The mayor, in consultation with the chief of police, shall prepare and may from time to time amend rules and regulations not inconsistent with state law, the Charter, this Code or other ordinance or resolution of the town council as he may deem appropriate for the government of the police department and to implement this chapter. Such rules and regulations shall be in full force and effect when approved by resolution of the town council, and a true copy thereof has been placed on file at police headquarters for the inspection and use by the members of the department. It shall be unlawful for any member of the department to violate or fail to comply with any such approved rule or regulation so filed at police headquarters.
